- she subtly casts distort value on the gemstone
- deceitfully she tells the duegar that the gemstone is only moderately valuable
after some negotiation she purchases the gemstone for 1750gp
Coxrock, the imprisoned svirfneblin, is released as per the prior agreement
Oneshoe and Yvelia yap about sharing info on the Zhentarim/Drow shenanigans with the other factions of Mantol-Derith
- they decide against it
Oneshoe chats with Coxrock in their native gnomish tongue
- Coxrock claims to not know anything about the magical effects of the gem
- Oneshoe argues that Coxrock should be more open, because the other factions are scheming against them

Cynlant and Yvelia discuss the partyrew’s travel plans
Cynlant asks Coxrock about the svirfneblin wares
- the mere mention of gems CARL SCREAMS!

at the svirfneblin camp Coxrock orders the guards to stand down, announcing the recent but tenuous peace
shopping occurs

Cynlant and Yvelia talk about the spy they’re supposed to find for the Lord’s Alliance
Cynlant sends to her, saying that they are leaving and asks if she wants to leave with the expedition force
- she doesn’t want to blow her cover and leave
the partyrew then discuses finding the missing emerald enclave scout
Cynlant, continuing to fulfill his telephonic duties, messages the scout
- he is just outside Mantol-Derith, lounging on the darklake
the Zhentarim guide shows the forces the way to the darklake from Mantol-Derith

Yvelia and Oneshoe make small walk with the Zhentarim guide about the magic doors
the partyrew stumbles onto a red haired elf in fine vestments
- he is dipping his feet into the water
the elf offers a slab of raw quaggoth meat
- everyone rejects his offer

the partyrew returns to Mantol-Derith then makes their way to the main force
the elf shares the location of a zoo of Underdark creatures
the zoo is 8 days travel west of Mantol-Derith
- Yvelia has a familiarity with the area, so the forces will be teleported to it

back as a unified fighting unit, Cynlant asks Sister to cast greater restoration on CARL
- CARL fights back but is unable to move the meat mountain that is Cynlant

Sorry….

CARL wheezes out as they slump over
after some convincing, the forces plan their zoo excursion
the boyscouts excitedly chant “ZOO, ZOO, ZOO!!!” while Yvelia conjures a portal

the boyscouts LEAP throw the portal to the zoo
- they stumble and nearly fall as they pass through the threshold
everyone who crosses through falls for a second before they land
the elf guides the forces to the zoo
large hollowed out stalagmites hold iron bars
a dwarf by the name Emerald Coppervein greets the forces unsettlingly
- the cost of admission is 3cp per head
Yvelia almost over pays the dwarf
the forces see a variety of enclosures
- rust monster
- Winged Kobold
CARL picks the winged Kobold’s cage, freeing it
- the zookeeper sprints after the emancipated creature
- Oneshoe spits out “Surely we’re not the first to take umbrage with you keeping a sentient creature”
with her Oneshoe™️ charm, the one legged gnome lies and convinces the zookeeper the forces had no involvement
- of course it works somehow
when asked how he managed to capture such a creature, Coppervein plainly responds

ROCK.

the forces move through to zoo seeing a fire snake
during some banter the partyrew finds out the zookeper is in the Underdark since the most interesting creatures call it their home
Yvelia offers a joint business venture where a teleportation circle is installed connecting the Headporium with the zoo
- he agrees, hoping to drum up more business
the forces pass by a roper enclosure
- Oneshoe tenses up in anger, remembering the loss of Fargus Rumblefoot
Xorns are in the following enclosure
the last enclosure has small bipedal fiends known as Manes
Yvelia starts conjuring a portal to Gauntlygrym
- she mentions potential visitors coming through as a show of good faith to the zookeeper

Yvelia pushes droopy through 1st
Oneshoe is tossed by Cynlant and flops
the rest of the forces move through
Yvelia recoups supplies, as does Cynlant
Oneshoe lightly interrogates the Emerald Enclave scout about his raw meat eating habits
- she looks in to his mind and understands if he runs out of meat, he would just go get more using a bloody flint knife
Oneshoe playfully asks sister to cast greater restoration on the elf, which she agrees to after a rest
at the market Cynlant finds
- Scimitar of speed
- Frost brand glaive
neither are purchased
before bed, Cynlants sends to the true Prince Derendil

Aching heart and mind
Needs touch of soul
and company

once the partyrew goes to bed, Yvelia sneaks off to commune with Mr. F
he thanks her for the completion of the task
- he refuses to answer any detailed questions
- Mr. F says he is working on Yvelia’s request for the ability to trap and consume souls
her next quest is to find a specific book near Menzoberranzan
- more assistance is promised at a later date

the forces rest
the elf scout left without saying goodbye, much to Oneshoe’s dismay
she proceeds to scamper about, trying to figure out where he went
Cynlant helps her by finding and emerald enclave member
Yvelia floats the idea of drawing cards
Cynlant (wisely) suggests that they wait until they are closer to the library Gravenhollow
