• Bon initiates combat with a guiding bolt, it successfully lands

• Cynlant flies in and stabs a duegar, bloodying them

• Ally conjures shadow puppets at a brain tyrant, causing it reel in psychic pain

  • it manages to shrug off any deeper effects

• the Brain Tyrant attempts to cast hold person on Droopy

  • Droopy manages to shrug it off

• two intellect devourers move closer to the partyrew, dripping with hostile intent

• Droopy uses his magical cube to conjure a wall of force, blocking off one of the tunnel chambers

• Yvelia hastes her chef, Ront

• a supercharged Ront smashes two mind devourers into bloody pulps

  • he then effortlessly caves in an enemy duegar skull
  • lastly he smashes a derro wizard, leaving it bruised with necrotic wounds

• some duegar do not realize they are trapped by a wall of force so they smash head fist into it

• Glabagool oozes up the tight cavern wall and silences an enemy derro wizard and the brain tyrant

• Oneshoe blasts the derro wizard with eldritch energy

  • Oneshoe cheers on Ront, inspiring him bardically

• CARL moves into the silent area, and begins to stabbing a duegar soulblade

  • both attacks land

• the duegar CARL attacked retaliates, only managing to land one strike

• another duegar soul blade strikes at Ront

  • he manages to dodges effortlessly

• the derro wizard steps out of the silence and dimension doors into the partyrew back line

• Bon conjures an earth elemental into the silent area, which bludgeons the duegar attacking Ront

  • afterwards he transforms into his starry form, and loosens an arrow at the derro wizard

• Cynlant flies above the same duegar, flanking him with the earth elemental

  • his shitty little dagger eviscerates the duegar with its fist strike
  • he strikes again, causing the duegar to look disoriented

• Ally eldritch blasts the wizard

• the mind tyrant steps out from the silence, scratches against the wall of force then unsuccessfully attempts to cast hold person on Oneshoe

• Droopy fires off eldritch blast before he steps into the silence

  • two bolts successfully hit the disoriented duegar

• Yvelia slays the wizard with two critical eldritch blasts

  • Yvelia telepathically commands Ront to murder them all

• Ront slays two enemies before starting work on the duegar dueling CARL

• the entrapped duegar attempt to penetrate the partyrew’s mind with madness

  • Oneshoe succumbs and grows a little mad, she starts to follow any direction told to her
  • CARL is filled with rage, and starts attacking the closest enemy near them
  • many partyrew members feel psychic pains

• Oneshoe and Glabagool viscously mock the enemies behind the wall

• CARL continues their duel with a rabid energy

• the enemies behind the force wall grow restless

• Bon orders his elemental to burrow behind the wall and attack

• Cynlant moves between Ront and a rabid CARL

• Ally critically hits mind tyrant with its own shadow

• the mind tyrant lashes with its tongue at the earth elemental, but its tongue fails to make contact

• Droopy drops the wall of force then begins to make quick work of the mind tyrant

  • he bloodies the illithid horror

• Yvelia pops out from behind cover, fires three eldritch blasts at the mind tyrant

  • the third blast kills it

• faint echoes of “I came in like a wrecking ball” start playing as Ront hastily bashes the antipaladins

  • his first strike critically hits the first enemy, which is followed up by a solid bash
    • the antipaladin’s skull collapses with a burst of necrotic energy
  • wrecking ball Ront continues down the line, making short work of the next enemy with two hits
  • the last visible enemy hit by Ront is bruised

• the surviving visible enemy retaliates but misses

• Glabagool plops down from the ceiling, and attempts to engulf the visible and invisible enemy

  • he fails to swallow them, but successfully pushes them

• the enemy pushed by Glabagool gets stabbed by Oneshoe

• the invisible enemy tosses a pyrite grenade, hurting some of the partyrew members

• the partyrew makes short work of the remaining enemies

• everyone collects themselves

  • Bon patches up people up with his healers kit
  • CARL and Cynlant finish their dance

• the partyrew starts to move further south

The Elder Brain

30ft floor to top of mesa 100ft floor to cavern roof

• the partyrew continues exploring the tunnels

• eventually reach a cavern with a large mesa

  • a thick faerez spirals upwards towards the ceiling

• as they step in they find elder brain!

• CARL bravely steps forward, and misses both of his attacks at a Brawny Brain

• Oneshoe steps out, conjures bigby’s hand in front of the elder brain

  • she uses her hand to push it off the top of the mesa
  • it lands with a comical SPLAT
  • the elder brain attempts to retaliate by weaseling into Oneshoe’s mind
  • she manages to resist, and rebuffs it with a taunt

• a mindflayer fly’s higher up on the mesa, attempting to dispel Oneshoe’s conjured hand

  • it nearly succeeds, but a quick-thinking Oneshoe uses silvery barbs to prevent it

• Glabagool climbs up the cavern wall and fires a wrathful strike at the Brawny Brain

  • it misses

• the Elderbrain unleashes a psych blast targeting Oneshoe, CARL, and Yvelia

  • CARL is afflicted with a psychic rend

• Bon summons an infestation on a mindflayer

  • it cringe in a slight pain before moving and starting to float over the edge of the cliff
  • Bon then unleashes a bolt from his starry form at another mindflayer

• the boyscouts begin to move in unison

  • Cynlant flies over to the mindflayer Bon just hit
  • he stabs at it twice, splattering its blood onto the partyrew below
    • Cynlant apologizes as the mindflayer falls
  • the Elder Brain unleashes a psychic blast to express its anger
  • Cynlant then conjures a chain of conviction on an other mindflayer
  • Ront moves forward, and starts bashing the Brawny Brain
  • the Elder brain retaliates against Ront with a brain blast
    • he manages to avoid the major effects, but is still injured
  • Droopy moves in and flanks the Brawny Brain
    • both his attacks land!

• A floating mindflayer casts fireball

  • it downs Carl and seriously hurts most of the partyrew
  • Glabagool is downed

• the Elder Brain unleashes more mental pulses

  • they target Oneshoe and Cynlant
  • it downs Oneshoe

• the mindwitness fires of three eye blasts

  • its first blast targets Ront
    • he manages to shrug it off
  • another blast targets Bon
    • Bon is seriously injured
    • he also develops OCD
  • the last blast targets Droopy
    • he easily manages to keep his focus

• Qualax the mindflayer floats towards Cynlant

  • he lashes at him with a tentacle
  • Cynlant manages to dodge it
  • Qualax then dashes back onto higher ground

• Ally pours a greater healing potion into Oneshoes mouth, resuscitating her

• Yvelia hastes Ront, which triggers the faerez

  • both her and Droopy disappear for 2 rounds into a pocket dimension
  • they heal to full health while trapped away

• CARL stabs at the brawny brain, only slight injuring it

  • little Carl also strikes at the brawny brain

• Oneshoe speaks a healing word at Glabagool, resuscitating him

• Yl’lib grows to large size, leaps at the Brawny brain, and scratches at it

• Ront is possessed by the Elder Brain

• Glabagool gives Cynlant a bardic inspiration before dashing off down the tunnel wall

• Bon fires infests the Brawny Brain, slaying it

• Cynlant strikes twice at the nearest mindflayer

  • he then chains Qualax, and pulls it closer
  • the faerez triggers, granting multiple

• a mind controlled Ront looks to strike Yvelia, but upon seeing her not there attacks Bon

  • he almost manages to down Bon, but doesn’t
  • after striking he begins to come to his senses

• the mindflayer arcanist slaps Ront with a tentacle

  • it nearly downs him

• the mindwitness fires off 3 rays

  • one ray misses Cynlant
  • one ray misses Ront
  • one ray misses Oneshoe

• Qualax strikes at Cynlant but he manages to block it

• Ally hits a mindflayer arcanist with two eldritch blasts

• CARL strikes burns a mindflayer with a bonfire

• Oneshoe summons bigby’s hand to punch at a Qualax

  • it misses
  • her hair turns into sticks because of the faerez

• Yl’lib bites and claws at the mindflayer which dodged the punch

  • both attacks find purchase

• Oneshoe’s little pixie sings a little tune, causing the mindwitness to dance uncontrollably

• more tentacles swipe at Cynlant

  • a shimmering wave of energy protects him as he casts shield

• Glabagool oozes back into range

  • he readies a healing word for any partyrew member that goes down

• Bon targets the arcanist with a guiding bolt

  • it lands, and is followed up by a starry bolt
  • the faerez reacts, forcing Bon to speak like a donkey
  • he is no longer able to use verbal components

• Cynlant stabs at Qualax in a brutal rage with his shitty dagger

• Ront follows the orders of his dear leader, and hastily bashes the mindflayers

  • chunks of purple ichor and squid-like flesh fly into the air
  • Ront runs then jumps off the mesa landing on top of the elder brain
  • he begins to brutalize the brain

• the arcanist turns to strike at CARL and Cynlant

  • only the attacks against CARL land

• the Elder Brain blasts Ront mentally

  • it downs Ront

• the mindwitness tries to break free from the dance

  • it fails

• Ally fires eldritch blasts at the arcanist

  • it does very minor damage

• Yvelia and Droopy return from the pocket dimension, fully healed

  • Yvelia immediately casts fireball
  • it damages the mindwitness and mindflayer arcanist
  • the faerez reacts, conjuring a hypnotic pattern centered at Yvelia
  • everyone around her succeeds, some with the help of Sup

• CARL conjures a bonfire underneath the elder brain, singing it

  • it is now bloodied

• Oneshoe moves closer and casts healing word on a downed Ront

  • the faerez reacts, casting irresistible dance on Oneshoe
    • she avoids the effect
  • she then blasts the arcanist elditchly

• Yl’lib leaps behind the elder brain and starts viscously biting at it

  • the Elder Brain ends up taking control of him

• Glabagool viscously mocks the arcanist

  • it receives no damage but seems deeply insulted

• Bon fires his gun at the elder brain

• Cynlant flys on top of the eldritch brain

  • he stabs into quickly twice
  • as he pulls out the knife he kicks in to the cerebral matter, killing it

• a prone Ront watches in awe as Cynlant kills the brain

  • he stands up and throws two javelins, killing the arcanist

• Droopy slays the remaining mindwitness

• the party find the following items in the brine pool

  • ring (ring of xray vision)
    • head of brain
  • robes (cloak of the illithid)
    • high-collar purple robes with skull belt piece
    • looks like the clothes of a mindflayer
  • tentacle-like whip (tentacle whip)
