• the party walks away from the guards

  • they banter a bit about Erde not wanting Cynlant

• the partyrew walks with the stone giants to their Clan Hall

• invisible but heavy armored foot steps echo through the caverns

• the city seems densely packed, with forges abound and alight

• Nivram greets the partyrew and the giants

• the partyrew walks their way in to the Stone Speaker Higram

• he stands with his nephew Dorhund, who seems to be recovering from the second head incident

  • Dorhund is fully conscious and alert

• Cynlant and Higram share pleasantries

  • Higram mentions the losses the stone giants have faced
  • he informs them that the stones have told him the illithid are deeper underground
  • Cynlant asks the stones a question
  • Yvelia subtly casts thaumaturgy to make them rumble
  • Cynlant grows distracted, as he tries to speak to the stones

• Oneshoe is worried about the death and enslavement of the derro

  • she tries, but fails to fully convince Higram to agree with the full franchisement of the derro
  • he is bound by his Clan’s obligation to the Deep King
  • Yvelia rambles about being the grand empress before trying subtly casting thaumaturgy to mess with Cynlant
  • Oneshoe eventually gets Higram to agree to not impede any peace making operations

• Cynlant finishes murmuring then tosses a stone at Oneshoe

  • it hits her, and hurts her
  • Cynlant places a hand on her shoulder to heal her

• according to Higram

  • the duegar who have attempted to dig into the Whorlstone tunnels have been met by illithid forces
  • the party starts to talk about how to enter the tunnels
  • Yvelia mentions she can cast Portho’s Portal
  • the partyrew then plans around invading the Whorlstone tunnels the next day

• clans Amblefield, Firehand, Thuldark can craft a key for the spell

• the party discuss their future plans for the day

  • they will eventually have an audience with the Deep King
  • Themberchaud will also likely to have an audience with them

Commissioning Keys

• a messenger from the king approaches the partyrew as they leave the Stone Giant’s cavern

  • the Deep King is hosting a war council at in a few hours

• Oneshoe and Bon run back in to introduce their children to Nivram

• the partyrew make their way to the clan Firehand

  • they approach a duegar working a smelter

• they try to convince the smelter worker to create two silver keys

  • Yvelia bumbles about her domain and teleportation
  • Oneshoe steps in and uncharacteristically is very direct about the partyrew’s request
  • the smelter begrudgingly agrees to prepare keys with silver the partyrew supplies
  • when asked for a place to stay, the smelter worker blows the partyrew off

• off in the distance the partyrew hears the thundering steps of Themberchaud

• the partyrew stops to rest for a bit

  • the foot steps trail off
  • the partyrew decide to make their way towards Themberchaud’s lair
  • Cynlant hides in the back and goes invisible
  • they also discuss what they will say to Themberchaud

Themberchaud

• the keepers of the flame guards in front of Themberchaud’s lair slightly accost the partyrew
  • they ask on what authority they come
  • before anyone can speak, a bellowing voice echo’s from inside

Let them enter.

• the thick smell of sulfur penetrates the partyrew’s nostrils

• the dragon stops the partyrew 60ft from him and his hoard

• Oneshoe spins a tale of the partyrew hearing rumors of the two-headed dragon egg in the tunnels

  • the claim is that the partyrew didn’t know the more specific details
  • they were also called aware on important business to Neverlight Grove
  • Yvelia has Kyem fly the Dream Sabre over as an offering

• Themberchaud grills the partyrew for deciding to not inform him earlier

  • Oneshoe and Cynlant describe the egg according to “notes” they found in the caverns
  • He grows angry at the lack of communication
  • Oneshoe placates him a bit by complementing him and sweet talking him
  • He also requests additional payment

• Yvelia offers a rare gem that he has never seen before

  • he seems interested, to which Yvelia shows him an amber spell gem
  • he accepts it on the condition that they receive more
  • he also requests additional items for further proof of their agreement

• Yvelia tries to sell him some dragon parts

  • he has no interest

• Oneshoe suggests that the partyrew draws cards froma magical deck

  • Themberchaud chortles then agrees

• Themberchaud waddles over to an empty area and has the partyrew draw

• the partyrew leave Themberchaud’s presence, upon which a keeper of the flame requests their presence with Kharom
  • Kharom is the new head of the keeper of the flames
• Kharom demands to know the topics of the partyrew’s meeting with Themberchaud
  • Yvelia mentions appeasing him with valuables
• Cynlant attempts to remove the imps plaguing Yvelia
  • its hard to tell if it has worked
• Kharom drills deeper, to find out want Themberchaud wants
  • Oneshoe speaks up and mentions that he desires the throne
  • Kharom is upset but understands that Themberchaud has had ambitions that were at odd with the Deep King
  • Kharom has wishes for Themberchaud to be deposed, but has to be considerate of the needs of the city’s forges
• Kharom mentions they need a replacement, Cynlant says he will try something
  • Cynlant enters a brief trance-like state, but stays quite
  • the partyrew decide to say their goodbyes and head off

Wandering the City

• Yvelia immediately starts shit talking the city
  • she claims to hate everyone there
  • Oneshoe tries to find a child, but the parents usher them away from her
• Cynlant mentions asking Bahamut for an Adult Gold Dragon to replace Themberchaud
  • Yvelia mentions opening a portal to the elemental plane of fire
  • Cynlant and Oneshoe look on in horror at the thought of the idea
• they partyrew looks around for a place to rest
• Cynlant contacts Stone Speaker Higram, requesting a place to stay
  • he acquiesces to the request
• the partyrew decides to rest and chat
• during the summit with the king they will mention their portal plan
  • they also decide to coordinate an attack on Themberchaud
• Cynlant casts legend lore to learn more about Themberchaud
