• the partyrew starts making their way south
  • they head to the eastern most non-destroyed bridge

Journey to the South

• the partyrew sees more signs of combat as they march on

• they stop just before gates into the slums

• Oneshoe hears the clanking of armor in the distance

• Yvelia beckons Kyem to return to scout the partyrew’s path

• while Kyem makes his approach, the steps become louder Cynlant go invisible

• the partyrew spots mindflayers, derro antipaladins, and duegar

• Yvelia opens combat with a fireball

• Ront positions himself near the gate, and starts chucking javelins

• Cynlant conjure an magical chain and throws it at one of the illithids

  • the creature becomes bound to Cynlant
  • with great fury he smacks the mindflayer with his thrown hammer

• Bon clicks his heels, then critically sears the injured mindflayer with a guiding bolt

  • the lifeless body starts flying back but is caught by Cynlant magic chain

• one of the mindflayers casts hold person on droopy

  • he is paralyzed

• two duegar soulblades throw their daggers in front of Droopy and teleport to them

  • they then strike at a paralyzed Droopy, injuring him

• the antipaladins strike at Cynlant and Ront

  • the hits against Cynlant find purchase, but don’t cause serious damage
  • Ront dodges out of the way

• a mindflayer attempt to weasel into Cynlant’s mind but he manages to resist

• the other mindflayer releases a blast of psychic energy

  • it hits nearly half of the combatants
  • it stuns Carl, Slicer, and Francine

• CARL skitters forward and strikes with a flurry of hands and blades

  • the blades hit the ankles and torso of the duegar

• a stone giants walks over to the duegar attacking Droopy

  • it manages to bloody one of them

• the other two stone giant strikes at an antipaladin

  • the first only hits one blow in a glancing manner
  • the second pummels it into dust

• Oneshoe casts synaptic static on the enemies surrounding Cynlant

  • one of the mindflayers reels in pain as it dies

• Oneshoe orders Sheldon to use his fisticuffs on the illithid holding droppy

  • it drops its concentration, and is bloodied

• Glabagool attempts to engulfs a duegar

  • it avoid being swallowed with considerable ease

• Yvelia blasts one of the duegar

  • it is barely standing

• Ront bludgeons the standing mindflayer to death

  • its head caves in like a souffle
  • he then strikes at the standing illithid, swiftly killing

• Cynlant smites the antipaladin, killing it with radiant energy

  • he then turns on a dime and thows his hammer killing one of the duegar

• Bon attempts to guiding bolt the last standing duegar

  • it misses the duegar and barely soars over Glabagool
  • he then transforms into his starry form and lessens an arrow at it

• the duegar strikes at Droopy

  • both find purchase hurting droopy

• the partyrew then makes short work of him

• as is routine, the partyrew searches the bodies

• Cynlant collects heads

  • mindflayer prophet
  • mindflayer tyrants

• the partyrew debates taking a short rest, but decide to continue towards the bridge

Gate into the South

• off in the distance the partyrew hears sounds of combat

• through Kyem’s eyes Yvelia sees balista and armed guards

  • 9 enemies fighting on a bridge

• the partyrew prepares for battle

• Bon initiates combat with a guiding bolt on a flying mind witness

  • he then enters his starry form then fires a astral arrow at it

• Cynlant sprouts his dragon wings, then blows three of the combatants off

• Yvelia shoots a beam of energy which explodes into a fireball

• CARL and Carl move on to the bridge, striking at an antipaladin with a cacophonous chittering

  • the black palms and shiny blades of the raccoons all blur together
  • stabbed in the chest, legs, and sides the antipaladin is bloodied
  • little Carl climbs up the antipaladin’s body only to tear its throat out with his teeth

• Ally conjures up a dark bridge adjacent to the stone bridge

• Ront marches onto the bridge and begins his bashing

• Oneshoe shatters the enemies on the bridge

  • a strange crunch reverberates through the cavern
  • most of the bridge enemies are battered

• Sheldon casts punch twice on an antipaladin

  • the first sends it reeling
  • the second knocks it into the air, dead

• a standing antipaladin attacks a derro on the bridge

  • it kills two derro before failing to strike the last

• an illithid releases a psychic blast, stunning two duegar on the bridge

• the mind witness fires a ray at Ront

  • his muscles begin to lock but he manages to shake it off
  • the mind witness then turns and blasts Droopy
  • Droopy manages to shrug off the tensing of his muscles
  • Bon also manages to avoid the effects of the mind witness

• the mind witness begins to float higher and utters

  • “You will join”

• the stone giants hurl boulders at the enemies

  • most do not land
  • those that do kill
  • only two enemies remain

• Glabagool squelches in wrath at the brawny brain

• Droopy moves forward smites the mind witness with his javelin

  • it falls down the chasm, dead

• Bon fires a guiding bolt at the remaining brawny brain

  • after the first hit he shoots a starry bolt at it

• Cynlant flies next to the brawny brain

  • with a stab and a slash, Cynlant beheads the brawny brain
  • Yvelia catches it in the bag of avarice

• the partyrew except for Oneshoe mill about on the bridge

• Oneshoe grows her celestial wings and dives into the chasm

  • she finds two illithid corpses and a limping bloodied derro
  • she gives chase, only for the derro to fireball itself and her
  • despite her attempts at diplomacy, the derro resists
  • when she tries to peer into its mind but a voice takes control of her
  • she begins to fly back towards the partyrew

• Cynlant banters with Yvelia about Oneshoe’s antics

  • the partyrew sees a flash of light in the cavern

• Oneshoe sees Cynlant midflight, and casts Bigby’s Hand

  • it swats at Cynlant but misses
  • justified, Cynlant freaks out

• the partyrew on the bridge is confused

• Cynlant’s dagger glows with divine energy

  • in a hawk like fashion, he dives into Oneshoe
  • as the dagger hits her, she comes to

• Oneshoe chases after derro but cannot find him

• back on the bridge Oneshoe begins to ramble about “friendship” and “slavery”

  • Cynlant grabs her face, shockingly grasps it, then asks if she’s learned her lesson
  • she has, to some extent

• after speaking to some of the guards, another battalion arrives

• the captain of the guard is there, she says “You’re… back.” to the partyrew

• Erde Blackskull discusses plans with the partyrew

  • they will return the stone giants, and see then have an audience with the king

• Cynalnt tries to flirt with the Erde

  • she rejects his offer for dinner
  • Ront attempts but fail to sweeten the deal by offering mindflayer calamari
