Treasure Hunting

What is to be done?

• the partyrew discusses their next course of action
  • they decide to stop by Phandalin
• Yvelia mentions that maybe Cynlant went to Phandalin to pick something up
  • Ront and Droopy immediately start walking through the brush, beelining to where Cynlant might be
• Oneshoe is excited to see Sister

Phandlain

First Night

• Oneshoe asks where CARL is from, if its a village like this

• CARL is from skrbahdlkawdbkjabdlkwhndlkjabdlwka (in racoonish)

  • only Oneshoe understands it as semi-rotted tree hut

• figures stand in the city cloaked in dark armor and well armed

  • they take note of the partyrew

• Oneshoe notices various tattoos

  • they are of snakes with wings
  • to CARL they just like typical thugs

Shrine of Luck

• Oneshoe stops by the shrine
  • the sister is absent, replaced by some other guy
• she left on business almost a month ago
• the replacement does not respond to her attempts to use Harperspeak

Cynlant Hunt

• Ront and Droopy look around, somewhat lost
• Oneshoe looks around for signs of platemail or dragon scales
  • she finds nothing
  • she also looks around for signs of Sup
  • nothing
• CARL looks around
  • they find a single silver coin

Stonehall Inn

• the partyrew promenades through town to the inn

• the goons drink and rough house in their corner

• miners sit in the corner

• the rock seeker brothers sit glumly in the corner

  • they ask if the partyrew has received their messenger

• they did not

  • apparently the mines were attacked by a Green Dragon (likely venomfang), a half dragon, and some cultists
  • as a result of the attack they lost multiple miners, guards, and a record keeper

• Yvelia is frustrated at the loss of profits from the mines

  • she wants the mines returned to working order immediately
  • Yvelia tells Ront and Droopy slaying the dragon is what Cynlant would’ve wanted
  • they nod along

• Oneshoe thinks back to her time studying in the library

  • she flashes back to learning that the Green Dragon met earlier was likely evil
  • Glabagool is soothing her in the flashback

• the woman who runs the town had hired the brutish looking goons

• Yvelia wants to renegotiate the partyrew’s holding

  • the Gundron brothers are somewhat distraught, and only want to talk after the mine and forge has been reclaimed
  • they also remember the threat made to desecrate their brothers corpse
  • Yvelia claims that the matter is serious, and all parties will discuss in earnest after mine is cleared
  • the brothers seem frustrated, mentioning go how they were ATTACKED BY A DRAGON
  • Yvelia relates to them, since she two was almost slaughtered by a Wyrm

• the official entrance is reopened, a little to the south of the old one

  • they could still sneak in through the old, hidden entrance

Reclaiming Wave Echo Cave

First Night’s Rest

• the partyrew departs for the mines
• Oneshoe sends a message to Sister
  • she is making preparations to head to Gauntlgrym
  • calls Oneshoe doofus

Second Day’s Journey

• Uneventful
• Droopy conjures a tiny hut for the party to sleep in
  • he beams proudly for his accomplishment

Assault on the Mines

• the partyrew travels once they rouse

  • Yvelia asks how Oneshoe is feeling, given that her skin is a plant-like green
  • she feels great

• the partyrew approaches the old entrance

  • bunch of hurried footsteps in stand out in the dirt near by

• inside the cave the place looks repaired, but battle-worn

• Oneshoe hears snickering off in the distance

  • kobolds

• Ront and Droopy look back, ready for orders

• Yvelia offers to have Kyem scout forward

  • “Aye Aye” he croaks before flying off invisible
  • he finds armored and winged kobolds, and the former guard station
  • the follows the bloody drag marks, seeing more humanoids
  • the drag marks stop by the water

First Pack

• the partyrew attempts to stealth towards the first group of kobolds, until Ront trips and causes his armor’s pt’chink to reverberate through the caverns
  • Glabagool also loudly squelches
• Oneshoe threatens the first pack of kobolds
  • they grab hold of their weapons for a second before running
  • they leave through the main entrance

🍄 Mushroom Patch 🧨

• Oneshoe sees a kobold on a bridge overlooking a mushroom patch
  • she lies, attempting to deceive him that Venom Fang sent her to replace him at watch
  • the Kobold isn’t convinced by any of her attempts and begins to move towards Venom Fang’s lair
  • panicked, Oneshoe fires an eldritch blast
• as he is hit, the Kobold shouts something about glory, before exploding in a massive fireball
  • Oneshoe manages to dodge some of the damage, but is still slightly singed
  • the caves RUMBLE with after the fireball

Starry Cavern 🌃

• the partyrew begins to move with alacrity towards the next chamber
  • multiple cultists, kobolds, and a dragon born stand waiting
• dragonborn on the ledge greets Oneshoe, personally
  • after recognizing the change in form, Oneshoe converses with them
• Oneshoe and Yvelia try to negotiate the mines back
  • Venom Fang refuses everything, she believes its all hers
• the cultists scream “FOR THE DRAGON QUEEN” and prepare to attack

Anti-Venom

• Venom Fang stares down Ront and orders him to strike down Droopy
  • Ront attempts to disobey, but fails
• Ront turns to Droopy, and strikes at him twice
  • both tacks bounce off of Droopy’s shield
• Yvelia almost blasts a kobold out of the air
• Droopy punches at Ront, whiffing then critting
  • Ront manages to bring himself back to control
• Venom Fang is slightly perturbed, begins to shift, and morph her form
  • she appears larger than when the party last saw her, scales fetid and decrepit
• a kobold sorcerer fires a mental lance at Oneshoe, incapacitating her
• a dragon-like humanoid roars, inspiring his allies
• a kobold moves forward and strikes at Droopy
  • two attacks hit
• Ally fires more eldritch blasts, almost killing the flying Kobold
• another half-dragon steps out from a neighbouring chamber, to atttack Glabagool
• CARL conjures a bonfire underneath one of the enemies
  • it twinges as its seared
• Venom Fang leaps forward towards the partyrew
  • She comes down HARD upon Ront
  • next she swipes at Oneshoe, seriously hurting her
  • lastly she whips her tail at Droopy
• A portal opens suddenly
  • out of the portal falls a humanoid, with a cat-like creature on his shoulders
  • its CYNLANT!!!!!
• Cynlant is adorned in platinum filigree, armor and shield adorned with platinum dragon iconography
  • he immediately joins the fray, stabbing at Venom Fang with his little dagger
• in retaliation Venom Fang releases a swarm of insects from her mouth
  • Cynlant begins to speak in celestial and write magic runes
  • after he slams his shield, ethereal scales cover everyone within a 10ft radius of him
  • the scales block all of the damage
  • Venom Fang groans out “I’ll make you suffer for that”
• the dragon’s allies wither, with one of them falling
• Ront continues to attack Venom Fang, flanking her with
• Yvelia conjures a hound of ill omen on Venom Fang
  • she then tries to mark with poor fortune her enemy
  • it looks like it would succeeded, but Venom Fang manages to brush it off
• Glabagool moves forward and engulfs the half dragon
• Droopy continues to attack the half-dragon near him
• Oneshoe comes to and realizes Cynlant is here
  • she attempts to psychically incapacitate Venom Fang
  • Venom Fang shrugs it off
• Droopy’s duel with the half dragon continues
  • he uses his cube to shield himself
• Ally eldritch blasts the roaring kobold
• CARL summons a glowing mote of light to engulf Venom Fang
  • she mostly shrugs it off
• Venom Fang becomes furious at Cynlant, striking him multiple times
  • all but the last tail swipe miss Cynlant
  • the tail swipe HURTS
• Cynlant lays his hand on Glabagool, bestowing him with Dragon Breath
  • after Cynlant strikes at Venom Fang, she revers back to her dragonborn form
• Ront moves over, to strike at the humanoid Venom Fang
  • he strikes at her, holds for a second then continues to wail on her
  • she begins to look bloodied
  • Venom Fang quickly moves to reveal a mace
    • she strikes at him
  • Ront feels as if he’s beginning to rot, but manages to shake it off
• Yvelia swirls tendrils of magic in her hands and attempt to mark Venom Fang with poor fate again
• Glabagool engulfs the roaring kobold and a half-dragon warrior, suffocating them
• Droopy continues his duel, managing to bloody his opponent
• one of the engulfed creatures manages to break free
• Oneshoe whisks her hand, attempting to conjure a polychromatic bubble around Venom Fang
  • she shrugs it off
• Droopy’s duel opponent hits at him
  • only one of the strikes hit, hurting him
• the last creature in Glabagool manages to break free
• CARL hits critically, then overly enthusiastic completely whiffs the second attack
• Venom Fang turns to Ront and says

You never should have disobeyed

• after which, Ront slumps over

• Cynlant’s dagger billows brilliantly before he decapitates Venom Fang

• Glabagool engulfs and begins to digest two bodies

• Droopy wins his duel, ending the combat

• Cynlant walks over to Ront, revealing a scroll of revivify from his bag

  • Ront gasps for air

• the partyrew greets Cynlant and is surprised on his return
