Journey to Blingdenstone

Day 3 Continued

• the partyrew takes a short rest while looting the corpses of the goblins

Society of Brilliance

• Yvelia receives a message from a member of the society of Brilliance, Skriss
  • they have contacted a member of their society about the illithid threat
• they cannot meet in Blingdenstone, so the group will meet them outside of the city
• upon informing the partyrew, the motley crew members let out a collective sigh at the lengthening of their journey

Journey Continued

• Joaquin receives a message from the surface about the surface factions
  • the Lord’s Alliance plans to build a coalition to face the Demon Lords
  • the meeting will occur in 6 months time
• as they continue their march, the partyrew begins to enter a narrow, flooded tunnel illuminated by faerez
• Oneshoe and Cynlant keep their eyes peels as the partyrew sloshes their way through

Flooded Faerez Tunnel Ambush

• small mounds of gloop bubble out of the water
  • Skitterhaunts and oozes AMBUSH the partyrew
• the first ooze sloops towards Ront attempting to strike him
  • he easily manages to dodge out of the way
• Jim Jar retaliates against the ooze that struck at Ront
  • it’s form collapses, splashing against Ront’s ankles with a singe
• Cynlant rushes towards one Skitterhaunt smiting it with radiant energy
  • goop beings to leak out of its shell
• Prince Derendil strikes at one of the oozes, injuring it but is stung by the splashback
• Yvelia blasts at one of Skitterhaunts, damaging it slightly
• the Skitterhaunts strike back, hurting Droopy, Ront, and slightly
• Oneshoe magicks 🌩️ the Skitterhaunts, as Ront and Eldeth begin to pummel more of the oozes
• A corpulent humanoid ooze whips its pseudopods at Bon
  • everful of grace, he dances out of the way
• Bon clicks his heels and attempts to flee the fat ooze
  • ungracefully, he is hit
  • he conjures a flaming sphere to attack the ooze which struck him
• A black ooze juts out a short block tendril to jabs at Derendril, burning his flesh and bloodying him
• Another black ooze hits Bon, burning and dangerously injuring him
• Cynlant slays an Skitterhaunt, and is covered by it’s ooze
• Prince Derendril strikes at an ooze, almost killing himself with the splashback
• Yvelia swaps places with the ooze that struck Bon, then blasts the Skitterhaunt
• injured but still alive the Skitterhaunt Yvelia struck grabs Droopy in it’s mandibles, causing him to faint
• Oneshoe whispers the healing word of ooze to Droopy, causing him to regain conciousness
• Ront brutalizes one of the oozes, slaying it
• Eldeth is slapped by the corrupting ooze
• Droopy whiffs his attacks, then dashes away
• A gray ooze downs Prince Derendril, then strikes Eldeth
• Jim stealths behind the enemies, only to miss his attacks
• Cynlant runs in, thundersteps the unconscious prince Derendil to safety
• Yvelia swirls magic around her, and casts fireball at the three remaining enemies and Eldeth
  • two of the enemies go down, and Eldeth is singed but still up
• Ront slays the remaining ooze, cleaving it down the middle

• the partyrew licks their wounds as they begin to leave the tunnel

March Forward

• as the partyrew begins to tire, they notice the Faerez is still thick in the air
• they decide to continue marching through the Faerez, in an attempt to find a safe place to rest
  • Bon’s frail old body begins to become exhausted

End of Day 3

• the partyrew quickly set up a camp site and FLOP into their bedrolls
• Cynlant’s tired eyes fail to see anything save for a few rats
• Oneshoe converses with Jim Jar about entering the city
  • He convinces her that even with the drow Joaquin that he can vouch for the partyrew
• Cynlant messages Bahumut, praying he makes Droopy stronger

Days 4-6

• mostly uneventful
• Cynlant continues to pray for Droopy’s strength to increase

Day 7

The Merchant 💰

• as the party begins to march
• a long, lanky 8 foot tall man says Hello to the partyrew from behind
  • he is sickly pale, with a green twinge to him
• he goes by The Merchant and greets the partyrew as fellow travelers
• Oneshoe looks at him, noticing he is slightly off-putting
• he begins to offer his wares
  • lucky stone
  • spider climb slippers
  • cloak of elven kind
  • box which produces mage hand
  • an immovable rod
• Oneshoe tries to trade her boots with the Merchant
  • Yvelia stops her and promises to trade gems instead
• The Merchant begins to tap impatiently on his cane as the partyrew deliberates
• Yvelia finishes the transaction purchasing
  • the luck stone
  • the spider climb slippers
  • an immovable rod
  • and a cloak of elven kind
  • at the cost of
    • 1 Carnelian (50 gp)
    • 3 Citrine (50 gp each, 150gp)
• the partyrew begins to look through the wares they purchased
• cynlant draws a ritual circle and identifies the purchased items
  • the items were cursed
  • the luckstone is a cursed luckstone
  • the cloak of elven kind turns the wearer into an elf
  • the immovable rod that can only be placed once
  • the spider climb slippers cause the user to have nightmares of spiders
• Cynlant picks ups the Oneshoe and forcibly removes the boots from oneshoe
• Yvelia sells them the spider climb slippers to Mr. F for 200 gp
  • after awhile, he responds that He has no use for cursed items
• Oneshoe decides to give Prince Derendil the cursed cloak, transforming him into a elf
  • he graciously accepts

Prince Derendril’s Transformation

• suddenly the fur begins to slough off Prince Derendril as he transforms into a nude elf
• Cynlant asks if he recognizes himself
  • it seems he does
• Prince Derendril is painfully naked as a pale high-elf
  • Bon offers his musty white dragon cod piece, which he rejects
  • Oneshoe offers cultist clothes from her bag, which he happily dons
• He mentions that he still feels like his true form is a quaggoth

👁️ Eyes of the Beholder 👁️

• the partyrew enters a tunnel
• after a bit of walking, Cynlant spots a group of humanoids and a large floating orbular figure
  • the orbular figure has tendrils with eyes, it is a beholder
• Cynlant sees that the beholder has less eye stalks than usual
• a single eye stalk watches the party from a distance
• many of the partyrew have some familiarly with beholderkin
  • they know they are not to be trifled with
• they continue on their way eastward as the partyrew heads north-eastward

• the partyrew sets rests for the night

• mostly uneventful

Day 11

Rumbling Caverns 🪨

• the caverns begin to rumble as the ceiling begins to cave in
• the original entrance and exit of the cavern are covered in rubble, as a new passage is revealed
