Day 3

A Tree in the Underdark

The Treachery of Mushrooms

• Cynlant rips and tears through the “dragon”’s body
  • trying to find anything actually draconic in nature
• Bon inquires with Aldi if that (the dragon) is natural
  • she doesn’t know, then scurries off to ask the World tree

I didn’t know she was a girl squirrel, that changes things

Oneshoe

• everybody else inches away from oneshoe
• according to the World Tree via Aldi, the dragon came from the Abyss
  • not many other things have
• Aldi hands Bon a stick and an acorn shaped charm
  • the stick is a branch of the world tree
  • the charm is a magical bell
• Cynlant begins to whisper to the tree asking if it talks

A Somewhat Peaceful Repose

• the partyrew begins to set up for the night
  • Cynlant begins to feed the squirrels and speaks to them in celestial
  • Oneshoe tries to convince the squirrels they are not in danger of Yl’lib
    • Yl’lib licks his paws
  • Bon also tries to feed the squirrels, convincing them to join him
    • they are not convinced
  • Yvelia ships heads off to Gho’rosh
• After a while, Bon holds the branch of the World Tree
  • it begins to grow as he holds it
  • he attempts to strike a nearby squirrel, but there is only a rock
• the party begins to rest
• in her sleep Yvelia begins to toss and turn
  • a dark presence appears in her dreams
  • a familiar voice, Mr. F tells the presence that “this one is claimed”

Days 4 and 5

• Aldi bids the partyrew farewell, and thanks them for slaying the mushroom dragon
• On the fifth day of travel Yvelia bequeaths a circlet enchanted with Mage Hand to Stool
  • immediately an ethereal hand appears
  • Stool fires a pistol from his bandoleer, causing hijinks to ensue

Day 6

• while traveling on the sixth day Cynlant spots 3 figures in the distance
  • an Earth Genasi
  • a female Elf warrior
  • a male surface Dwarf cleric
• they appear to be a traveling party

Fargas Rumblefoot’s Party

• Cynlant sends Messages the elf, causing them to stand at attention
  • as they receive the message, the deliberate amongst themselves
• the Elf responds, telling Cynlant they are lost
• both parties begin to approach each other
• the adventuring party mentions losing their companion in search of the Lost Tomb
• once in ear shot Cynlant nudges Oneshoe forward
• she presents his dagger to their confused faces
  • She tells the story of saving, adventuring with, then losing Fargas
  • the mention
• the adventuring begins to look distraught upon hearing the news of Fargas
• introductions happen, with the boyscouts offering hugs

Mourning Brunch

• the partyrew warns them of the danger of the Demogorgon
• Oneshoe offers for the parties to travel together
  • the surface dwellers decline
• Cynlant informs the authorities of Gracklstugh of the adventuring parties upcoming arrival
• Oneshoe checks up with Jim-Jar about the whole dying thing
  • he feels that Oneshoe is more worried than he is

Branch Growth

• the branch of the World Tree has continued to grow on Bon and his cloak
• curiously, Cynlant asks Bon about the growth
• Bon whispers softly

Thin Ledge

• the partyrew approaches a thin ledge
  • they rope up similar to when they were attacked by ropers
• Cynlant hears a buzzing off in the distance
  • he turns around and in a panic warns of incoming danger
• A vulture like creature is chased by two insect aid creatures
  • one of the insects collapses in the ravine next
  • the chase continues above the party, until the Vrock eventually falls down
  • Cynlant and Yvelia recognize the insectoid as Fiend
• the partyrew collectively Eldritch Blasts the remaining fiend, crumpling it as it tumbles down into the ravine
• the rest of the ledge is uneventful

Long Rest

• after setting up camp, Cynlant sends a message to his patron
  • he asks her what else she can do
  • she can craft various magical curious, but he would have to visit her in person
  • he casts sending again asking where to find her
  • she tells him he is in Gehenna and has items if he visits
• Yl’lib scratches Bon and marks him
  • he smells better after being pissed on

Day 7

• uneventful

Day 8

Mud Mucking

• the partyrew has to cross a dense muck of mud
  • Oneshoe wanders in at chest height for a bit, until Cynlant feels bad for her and carries her
    • Yl’lib rides on Oneshoe’s head
• Bon casts Walk on Water and avoids being covered in the mud
• in the distance a body lies face down
• next to the body is an insect creature, shaped similar to a Crayfish but with praying mantis like claws
• Cynlant raises the decaying body out of the mud, a magical thread and needle falls from the corpse
• Oneshoe Speaks with the Dead
  • He was killed by inspects
  • He was journeying Northward
  • He was part of a Caravan to Menzoberranzan
  • The thread was has healing properties
  • His name was Elsyia
• as soon as the body stops speaking Cynlant YEETS it through the mud
• Cynlant identifies the thread as Suture of Healing
• Bon encourages Cynlant to taste the mud
  • he does so with advantage, and discovers it’s just mud
• the partyrew presses forward until they find themselves on stone near a shallow stream
• Cynlant tosses Oneshoe into the water, so they both can clean themselves off

Male Drow Going Their Own Way (M(D)GTOW)

• off in the distance the partyrew sees a group of drow
• Joaquin informs Cynlant that he has left drow society a long time ago
• the group moves into a battle formation as the partyrew approaches, but notice something and ease up
• Cynlant messages their leader, and they agree to not immediately be hostile
• the Drow speak in elvish that they’re surprised Sarith is still alive
  • they are exiles from Menzoberranzan
  • Sarith’s family has been doing poorly as of late
• Oneshoe explains the circumstances that lead to Sarith traveling with the partyrew
• the drow were exiled for speaking against the current Matriarch
  • they invite Sarith to join them in their adventure
• as both groups calm down, they make further introductions
  • Faelan
  • Galathil
  • Ilyria
  • Ravenna
  • Zephyr
  • Elysia
• Oneshoe continues to blabber on to the exiles as they begin to leave
• She then begins to ask Sarith about the political climate of Menzoberranzan

Shooting Practice

• the boyscouts transform into their construction outfits and build a fence
• Oneshoe plays a little diddy that sounds like the Village People
• Stool and Bon shoot mushrooms off of the fence
  • the sounds of gunfire RING through the caverns
  • bullet ricochets bounce towards the party, grazing oneshoe
• the party rests

Day 9

• Oneshoe, Sarith, and Joaquin talk about the politics of Menzoberranzan
  • the city is matriarchal
  • they citizens worship the demon spider queen Lolth
  • the house Baenre is currently in control of the city
  • from house Baenre, Quenthel is the current matriarch
• off in the distance a hyena-like cackling starts

Hook Horror Hunt

Ready Set Kill!

• in front of the patryrew two hook-horrors dart deeper into the cavern
• they move into attack formation at the mouth of a cave
  • Gnolls start to turn into were the partyrew is waiting
• the partyrew peppers their foes with bolt and boom
• the melee fighters ready multiple attacks to hack at any approaching Gnolls
• Yvelia commands two of the Gnolls to walk towards the partyrew
• as the first Gnoll approaches, Bon immolates him in a holy fire
• the second Gnoll is hacked to death by Ront’s icy axe
• two of the Gnolls dash in an attempt to flank the partyrew from another another tunnel
• as the partyrew repositions itself to avoid getting flanked, Sarith casts Hunger of Hadar on the remaining Gnolls
  • Yvelia and Cynlant watch the Gnolls get caressed by the 🐙 milky otherworldly tentacles (its in the spell description!)
• as the first Gnoll approaches the edge of the darkness it gets slashed by Ront and blasted by Yvelia
• the other Gnoll walks towards Prince Derendril, who positioned at the edge of the darkness kills it
• the remaining Gnoll is swiftly dealt with by Ront
• Joaquin exposits the Gnoll hierarchy and their minor details of their religion
