• a high ranking duergar waits for the party outside of Themberchaud’s layer
• after exiting the lair, Themberchaud informs the duergar in dwarvish he wishes to speak with the deep king
• Themberchaud leaves, and the duergar turns to the party and invites them inside
• the partyrew struts in after him, they notice he seems concerned for some reason

Keepers of the Flame 🔥

• cynlant sits down and has the boyscouts stand behind him
• bon awkwardly stands behind cynlant
• yvelia sits normally
• oneshoe furiously swings her legs
• the duergar claims that Themberchaud has been “uppity” as he ages
• gartogar is the duergar
• the duergar asks what the partyrew’s meeting with the Themberchaud
• cynlant begins to speak until the boyscouts cover his mouth
• yvelia lies, and says that the meeting was just a greeting for outsiders
• convinced but confused, oneshoe asks about the line of question
• he answers that Themberchaud might be planning a rebellion
• he offers to hire the partyrew, since their “safety net” is no longer there
• apparently the duergar are trying to find out of Themberchaud has any allies and if someone can find the safety net
• the partyrew begins to negotiate the price for the “safety net” (the dragon egg)
  • yvelia successfully negotiates an additional magic item
  • 3000gp or a magical figurine (a jade spider)
• the partyrew begins to discuss the deal amongst themselves
• they accept the offer
• the duergar says when a wyrmsmith such as Themberchaud becomes an issue, they slay them
• the city plans to hatch the egg, slay Themberchaud, then gift the new dragon the hoard
• yvelia renegotiates the deal to equity in the hoard and a magic item
• oneshoe begins to pull out the egg as yvelia explains the ordeal of obtaining the egg
• the partyrew confirms that that they did not tell Themberchaud about the egg
• gatokkar has two attendants take the egg
• he says the reward will be sent to the partyrew lodgings
• the partyrew takes their leave

• as the partyrew returns to the darklake district

• droki is dashing through the streets

Droki’s Demise

• oneshoe casts slow on him, with bon’s assistance

• the boyscouts grab him by the scruff as bon removes his shoes

• passerby’s look concerned

• yvelia uses thaumaturgy to make her voice boom and announce he is an escaped slave

• the market goers murmur but do not cause a scene

• droki panics, and realizes cynlant is beat him before and oneshoe lied before about not knowing her capturers

• the patryrew brings him into their inn room

• bon begins to look through droki’s bag

  • she leaves to gamble

• cynlant removes droki’s hat to his complaints, then cleanly severs his head and hands

• at the blade bazaar oneshoe wins but notices a duergar from the empty scabbard

• he gets handed a sealed envelope

• oneshoe returns to the inn

• the boyscouts put the body in oneshoe’s bag of holding

• yvelia cleans up the mess and the smell with prestidigitation

• the partyrew tries to figure out where to dump the body

• they talk about buying a boat, and oneshoes lack of knowleddge on bag

Boat in a Box

• the partyrew scheme until oneshoe decides to walk off to the boat in a box
  • yvelia will stealthily cast Distort Value on the boat in a box
• oneshoe begins to talk to the boat merchant
  • yvelia tries to cast distort value on the boat
  • the merchant notices, and is slightly accosts yvelia
• eventually yvelia caves, and spends the 800gp on the folding boat
• the partyrew begins to walk towards the docks
• oneshoe runs back to grab a glass bottle, to inaugurate the boat with a bottle of wine
• they begin to row the boat into the darklake about 500ft
• cynlant ties the droki’s decapitated body to a rock and throws it over board
• after their dark deed, the partyrew heads back to the inn to rest
• oneshoe decides to name the boat Boatpiddo
• the duergar oneshoe noticed earlier is talking to another fishmonger

The Deep King

The Deep King’s Summons

• yvelia wakes with her warlock powers restored, 2 platinum pieces, a heftier bag, and an imp named Kyem
• a well armored stoneguard militia approaches and demands the party’s presence at the deep king’s court
• cynlant runs out of the inn to get bon, oneshoe gets yvelia
• the partyrew follows the guard towards the deep king
• in an antechamber, the party discusses their plans for the meeting
• oneshoe begins to play her flute while the party waits

Audience with the King

• the king sets upon his throne with a golden hammer
• a female duergar sits beside him on a smaller chair
• the guards closest to the throne are equipped with a flamethrower like weapon
• cynlant and yvelia approach the throne until stopped
• the queen orders the party to kneel before the king
• cynlant casts divine sense, and detects a fiendish presence emanating from the queen
  • he notifies them over rapport spores
• after a very long pause, the king bellows out asking the party for the concerning news
  • he mentions the captain of the guard and the keepers of the flame
• yvelia begins to recant some of the details of the partyrew’s adventures in Gracklstugh
• the deep king asks if they found anything else other than the cult
• the duergar whispers into the deep kings ear
• yvelia reveals that the party found the dragon egg, much to the deep kings surprise
• the kings assistant whispers into his ear
• the king calls for the elimination of the derro, and the imprisonment of the party
• bon upcasts dispel magic on the female duergar
  • her duergar form drops and a pink skinned demon in a fine dress now stands next to the king
• cynlant yells to guards that the succubus is charming the king
• the guards are confused by the demon at their kings side
• the king orders even louder PUT THEM IN MANACLES
